Excellent overview of one of the best parks in Africa.This is an excellent guide, not only to Ngorongoro Crater, but can also serve as a safari guide to most of the other Tanzanian and Kenyan National Parks.It has scientific glossary, background information, and colour pictures of the mammals, birds, insects, vegetation, and reptiles in the crater (both common and rare), as well as chapters on archaeological digs and sites, geology, ecology, hydrology and human history, not only of Ngorongoro, but also the surrounding areas such as Olduvai, Lake Natron, the active volcano Oldoinyo Lengai, Empakaai, Olmoti, Serengeti area, and others. Box texts on hominid finds, extinct/threatened animals, conservation stories, and so on are also included. Road maps, walking trails, and places to stay are included, but these might have aged a bit, but the rest of the scientific and other information is pretty reliable.Ngorongoro is a special place, right up there with Yellowstone or Uluru, one of the best parks/conservation areas I have ever visited. It's actually not a national park, but a 'conservation area', as locals still shepherd their animals within the crater; seeing lions a few hundred metres away from shepherds is a somewhat strange sight, although both lions and shepherds have learnt to live with/avoid each other in a somewhat unusual arrangement. In fact many parks in Africa are a bit like this, you see townships and villages right next to roaming wild animals relatively often, both people and animals have found ways to avoid each other and more or less co exist, although not always without some friction or conflict. (This is likely why there is no African wild dogs in the crater anymore, also discussed in this guide, they are too good at killing and stealing cows and goats, so get hounded off or killed by protective farmers from time to time. Same thing sometimes occurs in places like Yellowstone with the wolves there).There are beautiful illustrations, including full colour topographical maps, roads, camping sites, you name it- it's probably got it.This guide is quite comprehensive and might be all you need for a safari trip in Tanzania/Kenya. Locals guides also use it, and its also available in Tanzanian parks for sale for about $50 US, so it's cheaper to pick up a copy before you go, or when you get home, as I did.You can fit it in you backpack as well. You can also get the Serengeti guide in the same series, but i preferred the Ngorongoro Crater on my trip, so i got this one. There are a few other national parks in the area such as Manyara and Tarangire which aren't included, but it has just about everything else. Highly recommended.Attached is a few photos of my trip to Nogorongoro. And by the way, it's at 2400m on the crater rim and was 14 degrees C the day i was there, so take a jacket.

When we were game driving in Tanzania our guide used this book as backup for all the information he told us and all the animals he showed us. It was very nice to be able to purchase it and use it afterwards at home to enlight the many pictures we took! All the stories came back to us (my notes were taken in the back of the jeep and not always too elaborate!) Not only for Ngorongoro NP but also for Tarangire NP, Lake Manyara NP and Serengeti NP. Great book, easy to use!

This book contains a lot of new and effective steps and information about instant pot for beginners. It's like someone is looking to learn how to cook risotto in the instant pot, and someone - a dessert or cottage cheese. I finally found this wonderful book.

The recipes look easy and tasty but there is oil in almost everything, even for breakfast. A lot of the oil is sesame or coconut oil which is delicious but not the healthiest!

Super short. Under 100 pages and all just in black and white, no pictures. AND NO GRAPHICS OR TITLE ON THE SPINE OF THE BOOK!! Not impressed. Hope the food turns out awesome!

I will return it. Thin little book. No color, no photos but mainly every recipe has various kinds of oil in it. A lot of them have things in them I dont eat, tofu, pasta, noodles, ketchup and the recipes just did not look delish to me at all.

This book is great for beginners! We have tried several recipes and they are great. nothing crazy to buy. Highly recommend!

I was interested until I started looking at the reviews and noticed that a bunch of them are poorly written, as though English is a second language to the writers. For that reason I won’t buy this overhyped book, despite being a committed vegan and owner of an Instant Pot.Please, Amazon, get rid of the fake reviews.

How do I review this? The material itself is geat. If I were reviewing the print edition I suppose I would be giving the book 5 stars; unfortunately I have the Kindle Edition. Again, the material itself is 5 stars, but the conversion to Kindle formatting is not just bad, but atrocious. It is so bad that I would not recommend anyone buy the Kindle version. Just look at the preview and you n will get a glimpse of formatting problems throughout the book. With that said, I liked the material so much that I am inclined to buy the print edition. The author elucidates on the ethical basis of yoga, which is much neglected. 5 stars for the material itself, but zero stars fir the formatting.

Rabbi Seymour Rossel is the author of The Wise Folk of Chelm and more than thirty other books, including The Torah: Portion-by-Portion, Bible Dreams: The Spiritual Quest, A Child’s Bible, When a Jew Prays, When a Jew Seeks Wisdom, A Thousand and One Chickens, and Managing the Jewish Classroom. In addition, he has edited some 300 books, having worked with many distinguished Jewish authors of our times. Seymour is the President of Rossel Books and RCC, Inc. He was Rabbi of Congregation Jewish Community North in Spring (Houston), Texas. During his many years in New York, he served the American Reform movement (URJ) in a number of national positions: as Director of URJ Press, Director of the Department of Education, Director of the Commission on Reform Jewish Education, and Dean of the School of Education of Hebrew Union College-Jewish Institute of Religion, NY. He also sat on national boards for the Coalition for the Advancement of Jewish Education (CAJE), the Jewish Book Council, and the National Association of Temple Educators. He was Founding Director of Pathways Foundation (an advocacy program for Jewish teens and Jewish dreams); Headmaster of Solomon Schechter (now Levine) Academy of Dallas, TX; Executive Vice President of Behrman House; and Director of Education for Temple Shalom of Dallas, TX, and Temple Beth El of Chappaqua, NY. Seymour also served in voluntary capacity as Chairperson for two international Jewish education conferences both convened at the Hebrew University in Jerusalem. We're using this book in a class at my synagogue and the stories generate quite a bit of good discussion. This book is excellent for that. Definitely recommend it.

Seymour Rossel is a brilliant story teller. He has been telling stories for over 40 years and finally I have most of them in this wonderful book. Everyone would be amused by these stories which can be used to stimulate conversations and classroom lessons.

Seymour Rossel knows stories and he has amassed many of the best in this collection. Each one is readable, and each has a memorable message. Whether you are looking for inspiring reading, or want a treasury of stories for lessons, speeches, illustrations, etc., you won't be disappointed.

Great book.

I love this sort of thing, it helps me understand the Bible, especially why Jesus was so angry with the Pharisees. They are a Stiff Necked people, this is clear in many of these stories. They are also God's People, they will again have their time. The idea that Christians have persecuted Jews because they Killed Jesus is ridiculous, Jesus had to die to pay for our sins.I regress, these stories do help me at least understand much of what I read in Scripture. They also allow me to see into the mind of a people that I have not really ever been exposed to before.

From his life's work as a congregational rabbi, Rossel retells over 320 stories, personal teaching favorites he has chosen because they thrum with Jewish belief, ethics, and ways of life meaningful today. Stories draw through time from traditional tales to eclectic selections from Internet anecdotes, Kafka, Boccaccio, and Sufi lore. Most, but not all, have Jewish roots and include adaptations from Newman, Buber, Ausubel, Langer, Midrash, Talmud, and Rossel's own published works. Brief sources follow each story, though folktales are often identified merely as Yiddish/European without naming a particular book. Some of the sources, like Certner's 101 Jewish Stories, are out of print, which makes it so valuable to have whole stories here. The book is divided into four sections - God, Torah, Israel, and Faith - and then subdivided into many categories. Israel is by far the largest section, encompassing themes from daily living, such as community, gossip, justice, and choosing life. There are thirty-two stories on Wisdom in the Torah section. Despite a disappointing only four tales under Women, this book is a gift for rabbis, storytellers, parents, and teachers. It is clear that Rossel has not only been a good storyteller in his life, but also a good listener. Many of these stories have been told before, but they sound fresh in this user-friendly collection, enhanced with indexes by holidays, characters, and concepts and values, as well as a bibliography.
