Not much here about the show itself; just lots of references to music in the show, and movies and books that inspired it. I was hoping for more background in production, insider secrets, exploration and analysis of the story, discussion on character development, etc, and was disappointed to not find it here. Instead, there are silly quizzes and snarky writing, with callouts to lots of other material.
This is a delightfully written and informative book. I am so glad I purchased it for my granddaughter and for me. It ties the authors to other authors and film makers. it covers the 80's music that is in the series and I love. Great book.
The book is alright but, honestly, not worth it's price. It did very little for me and at times seemed like it was for kids or something. I don't like reading a book that feels like it's pandering to a certain audience and this book feels like it's pandering to either a younger audience or an ignorant audience.If you don't know 80's trivia this could help you out, otherwise this book won't help you.
Great for any Stranger Things fan
I love the book it went into details about the show and also what was big in the 80's. I do wish however that the author would of included photos from the TV show like cast photos anyway good book.
The book itself came in great shape, minus a red line on the bottom of the pages. But the contents of the book were awful and not what I expected at all. I was expecting a little guide through the series, you know, pointing out little details you missed and describing key plot points. Instead, what I read was the history of all the people that influenced the writers. I learned more about Steven King and films I haven't seen than I did Stranger Things. I do not recommend this book AT ALL.
10 year old daughter can’t put this book down. So many interesting facts she’s shared with us and has inspired an interest in 80s movies and music. She read over half of it the day she got it and keeps re-reading her favorite sections. A must for any fan!
My teenage son is a big fan of Stranger Things (who isn't?!), and has really enjoyed this book full of tidbits. I'd recommend it to anyone who's a fan of the show!
