This story shows the difficulties of dealing with someone you love that has an addiction problem and mental health issues. This book explores the difficulties and tells a compelling story on continuing to love and help without trying to enable. The sad reality is that sometimes it isn't enough! This book is an eye opener for people not familiar with this problem and supportive for those who know and think they are alone!

I read this book in 2 days. While I've never had a personal experience with addiction, I've worked with families who have been impacted and this book rang true to all those experiences. The author did an amazing job telling a heartbreaking tale. In the midst of the heroin epedemic, most families have a "Sterling" and can relate to this heartbreaking tale. Thank you for being brave enough to share it.

This book is not just about addiction. It's about life. It had me thinking about so many things. I think it even made me less judgmental. For sure, it stayed with me and made me realize how much childhood trauma does to a person. The book made me laugh and it made me cry. I will be thinking about this book for a long time.
