I recently purchased the new DVD, Target Tactics for Sporting Clays and finished reading the book, Mastering Sporting Clays, for the first time and I have to say that I’m going through an amazing revelation. On a regular Tuesday night at 5 stand I forgot to bring my shooting glasses with me to the club. I was ready to start practicing some of the Target Tactics Don describes in the DVD. I shoot with an occlusion device, a magnetic dot, which was NOT on my regular, daily wear glasses I had on but a little background first. If I’m going to be honest, I have always for the most part shot by measuring lead. I know, it’s the cardinal sin of shooting but I always have relied on this method. I even have a green, glow tube that lets me know when I have my eye lined up down the rib. I have really noticed over the past several months that I have been barely breaking targets; light break of the front, back, top, bottom, never smashing targets hard. As I stepped into the box I called for the single and just shot instinctively…smashed bird. At the time I didn’t realize I had my regular glasses on without the dot. My turn came up again for the report pair. Bang, bang, broken birds. It was then I looked back at the trapper and said, “I did that without my shooting glasses”. He looked at me like it was my halleluiah moment! It was!!! I decided to soldier on and I started killing targets faster and with more authority. I’m still flabbergasted that I did that without the occlusion dot, but I can understand now. I was so worried about that barrel/bird relationship that it seemed to accentuate my need to have the left eye blocked from seeing the barrel. After focusing solely on the bird my left eye had no job to do and the right eye dominantly focused on the target. Hard to explain but it worked, and I thank Don for explaining it in so many ways that a hard head like me could finally understand. The FAITH part of the formula is HUGE. I have always had this problem and I think several shooters will say the same. When that far away crosser is moving fast, and you need to be committed to the BP I’ve many times not felt comfortable with where I should be when having one eye occluded but I now feel that if I focus and trust that the barrel will point to where I’m focusing I will be more confident and break those birds. It might sound simple to just say open your eyes and just shoot but when you have done the wrong thing for so long it can be tough to try something new. I say take that chance or you will never know. It is definitely working for me!The DVD goes hand in hand with the book, so you really want to purchase both. Don’s explanation of the Churchill Method of instinctive shooting is so easy to understand in the book and illustrated beautifully in the video. Seven bullet proof techniques on how to break targets in any situation. My hands down, favorite technique is the two-piece! I feel like an absolute boss now with targets above and below and chandelles going up. I have never been more excited about shooting and the DVD and book let me discover new and better ways to break targets. I’ve been so impressed that I’m going to fly down to FL for a few days and take some lessons from the master himself. Great DVD! Great book! Thanks Don.

If you're new to the sport, this book will give you just about everything you need to go from novice to knowledgeable. The principles he espouses are as tried and true as you can get from a sport that is still relatively new and much more mental than physical. Plus, there are tips for more experienced shooters for problem targets, such as rabbits and (for me) teal.My one note of caution would be to buy the physical book instead of the kindle version. Some of the graphics and pictures did not come across as well on the kindle as they would have in a book.

This is the clearest and most comprehensive book on clay target shooting I have read, and I've read just about all of them. The author's expertise as an instructor as well as his ability to write well are both readily apparent in the first few pages. Incredibly well organized to offer sound advice and techniques to novice through top level clay target shooters. The only negative I can think of is it wasn't written sooner. I highly recommend it for anybody wanting to improve their sporting clay game.

I first heard of the Once and Future King in the critical reviews of my favorite fantasy series, A Song of Ice and Fire. Hearing the Once and Future King praised as one of the greatest fantasy classics created a certain set of expectations for this book, which it wholly failed to live up to.This book has two major problems: the narration and the pacing. The first section of the book details Arthur's childhood, and is 100% a Charlie and the Chocolate Factory-esque children's book. Arthur gets turned into animals so he can learn from them. He meets some massively ineffective knights for the comedy of watching them fail. White constantly inserts forced references to ordinary 1950's england. And this nonsense drags on for 150 pages. Worse, the super-innocent, super-naive voice continues well on into adulthood. It just makes the whole book seem childish. It's not until Lancelot shows up halway through the book that any character can truly be said to be interesting.Even the basic plot, once you get through all the filler, isn't great. Arthur basically has to invent morality from scratch in this book, and while White does as good job as possible, 'War and killing people is bad, let's get people to stop it', is a very simplistic premise most stories can just take for a given. And it doesn't help that these stories were written when the British Empire was still a thing. Some of the moral preaching can come off as ridiculous to modern audiences.All in all, I regret reading this book, and I only avoid giving it one star because I think I might have enjoyed it more when I was seven.

I spent the summer reading this along with my daughter, who had been assigned it for summer homework prior to her freshman year in high school. This volume is actually a composite of four books that were initially published separately between 1938 and 1958. The first is rather different from the others. It is about the future King Arthur's experiences as a boy while he was being tutored by Merlyn. It's a series of adventures in which Arthur is turned into various animals by way of educating him about governance. It is the most like a children's story of the four books, and it is very, very dull for the most part--though King Pellinore and his Questing Beast are delightful. The second book tells the story of Arthur's nephews, who are destined to cause problems in the future. They're raised by a witch who--and this is almost the only thing I remember from the book--boils a cat alive for purposes of magic. It's a horrific but superbly written scene. But things actually get good in the third book, when Lancelot is introduced. His relationship with Arthur and Arthur's wife Guenever form the spine of books three and four. Their love triangle--for they all love one another--is tragic and nuanced. The book is over-long, if one can criticize a classic such as this: so much detail; and those tiresome animal stories at the beginning would turn off many a reader. It's as if White wanted to weed out the chaff among his readers and save the better stuff for the hardy few. But ultimately it is worth the read, and it ends well, with the final chapter of book four summing things up well.

"The Sword in the Stone": Okay."The Queen of Air and Darkness": A bit better but not great."The Ill-Made Knight": Made the previous two books worth it. Absolutely incredible. It has a strong claim to be the second best fantasy (to Tolkien's masterpiece) ever. White is a genius when it comes to characterization, and his portrayal of Lancelot is full of incredible nuance. He makes the ill-made knight more human than I've ever even seen somebody attempt to do. The previous two books are important as set-up, though."The Candle in the Wind": One of the greatest tragedies I've ever seen, on par with Shakespeare. Once again, every single character feels alive. Even Mordred is presented with more sympathy than I thought possible. The ending is moving and heartbreaking.Conclusion: Despite a slow start, the book is a masterpiece.

I was reading through the one-star reviews, and I felt that I should mount a defence of my favourite book. First of all, I think it's rather important to remember that The Once and Future King is not a book about King Arthur. It is a book about being human, and about the misery and joy which attend that particular condition. It is a book about T.H. White's peculiar solitude, about loving nature more than men, and about loving humans fiercely for their flaws and their sorrows, and for the hollowness of their glory.Coming from this perspective, I think that White is one of the only modern writers whose approach to Camelot mirrors that of the original Arthurian authors. Chretien de Troyes and Mallory were not writing about Arthur, they were writing about their own times -- the places and fashions that mattered, the people and manners that they experienced, reflected in the idealized mirror of Arthur.The Once and Future King is about White's experiences with war and tragedy -- these are mirrored in the childish foolishness and aged grief of the Wart, and muddled into the tragedy of Lancelot and Guenever. It is not always an easy book. It is very obviously a product of its own peculiar place and time, as all good Arthurian stories should be. It is my favourite book.

I wrote a longer review for the Narewka mailing list I run, if you want to joing send a blank message to narewka-subscribe@j-geek.org.Finally this Shabbat we received the long awaited Bialystock book (Jewish Bialystok and Surroundings in Eastern Poland, by Tomasz Wisniewksi), I spent one afternoon on Succot reading it.The book was small only 147 pages and I was able to read half of it in one afternoon. It is well written and provides a good insight into how people must have lived in the region. It also inspired my father and I to want to visit the area, perhaps in the next year.The 'chapter' on Narewka was brief, about three pages.

This book has a lot of charts and visual ways to help you understand complex topics. But if you don't know that you may get the audio version which makes it very difficult to understand the charts! Review the "look inside" pages to see what I mean. I got the audio and I have major buyers remorse! It sucks trying to contemplate a chart when someone is just reading it. USELESS!

I've read all of Robert Kiyosaki's books which I thought were all great and motivational. But some of his newer stuff is just reiterations of the old stuff. Financial IQ was one of the newest ones and while I did enjoy it, I don't really think I needed to read it for anything other than motivation (and since motivation is my #1 problem I did read and enjoy it!).Rich Dad's Adviser's books are very good too. They're in-depth and give you great information. Garrett Sutton or Diane Kennedy, for example, really give you a lot of know-how.This "Real Book of Real Estate," however, is useless. So, while Garrett Sutton's books will tell you all about setting up an LLC, Sutton only has a short chapter here to speak to you. There's not enough room for an in-depth overview of anything. If you already own real estate you already know all of this stuff. If you don't, then you need to read more in depth books. If it's motivation you need, read Kiyosaki's own books. And if you've started on real estate read a book about what you really need to know, not a useless overview from a bunch of a experts I don't need to hear from right now. Is a CPA useful? Sure, but why do you care how she can save you thousands of dollars on all that real estate when you only own 1-2 homes?I say forgo the purchase of this book. Even the Kiyosaki + Donald Trump one is better. Truthfully I've read hundreds of financial, real estate, and self-motivational books. And in all honesty there have only been 2-3 I haven't finished. This book of real estate is one of them!

Where do you usually want to listen to an audio book? In the car, right? Well, guess what. These cd’s WILL NOT PLAY IN ANY OF MY VEHICLES! What they don’t tell you is that these are cheap, poorly made, MP3 discs that will not work in most CD players. Between personal and work vehicles, my wife and I have 4 cars sitting in the driveway and these discs will not play in any of them. Maybe I got bad discs? I am incredibly frustrated. I am going to try putting the files onto iTunes and then onto my phone from there, but why should I have to do that? This is my first Kyosaki purchase and I guess I expected more from something with his name on it.

Turning off the morning commute radio station and instead listening to audio books is one of the smarter decisions I made for 2018. This one contains lots of great life stories about real estate investing told by those that have done it. I learned quite a lot, and it opened the door to new ways of thinking about assets. There are a few stories where you hear about mistakes people made. I like those the bests, since we learn more from mistakes (ours or other peoples) then from the successes. Having each chapter read by the entrepreneurs themselves made this a really entertaining audio book.

Great book to learn the many different ways to make money in real estate. I have already learned most of all the techniques taught in this but, but thought it was a great refresher. If you are serious about investing in real estate, I would check this one our.

I found the book to be a terrific overview of issues involved in big project investment and a great reiteration of the team concept; a big picture summary. I am not likely to buy many of the individual advisor books so I enjoyed this compilation. Am using it to keep stretching my thinking.

This is honestly the best real estate book out there. It explains EVERYTHING I needed to know, in great detail.

This is easily the best overview of the complex world of real estate investing that I've seen -- highly recommended! A key feature is the checklist in each section that lists what to do and how to do it. Everyone starting (or continuing) a real estate investment should thoroughly read and understand this marvelous work!

A friend told me about this book and I was a little apprehensive to read it in fear that it would further harm my current relationship (or lack there of), just by looking at the chapter titles alone. My relationship is not “50/50” and I want it to be, we do not practice “100% transparency,” he knows I “cannot handle the truth”, I want to add value by “retraction”, and I have no clue how to “renegotiate the deal”. I didn’t want this book to tell me it was over before things ever got to be great.BUT...I found some hope in this book as there are a number of take-a-ways; such as: knowing exactly what you bring to the table, and highlight that. I realize now that my reactions are emotions based ALOT and that it would be beneficial to not show my pain in every situation. Checking the expectations we have of others is also crucial to the survival of our relationships - nothing is implied with men these days.I might be able to renegotiate my deal, we’ll see.I would recommend this book to others.

The book teaches you how to be honest with yourself, and others, so you can receive all that you want out of relationship. If by chance you are not getting what's wanted, you must learn to "renegotiate the deal." Although, the author states the book is primarily for women, men can also gain knowledge by reading this book. Creating safety for full disclosure and emotional intelligence are advantageous in all relationships. I appreciate the author spoke about real life experiences. Although, some of his teachings are subjective in nature, or even controversial to some, the book was informational. The author's personality was felt through his subtle humor and a hint of irony. If you are interested in receiving what you fully want out of your relationships, read this book! Perhaps you just want to have a discussion about a topic that is contentious and debatable. If that's the case, read this book! You will definitely take something away from your reading.

I was very intrigued by the title of the book "Optimal Happiness, Love ain't never been enough". As you read that you are going to immediately ask yourself what does he mean by "Love ain't never been enough"?. However, after reading that chapter you are going comprehend what The writer is conveying, which is very direct and to the point. ( This is where don't judge a book by it's cover comes into play LOL ). Read the entire Chapter and you will understand it more...... The writer was able to give us an inside view of what we should focus on in order to live up to our optimal happiness!. He brings us back to what is really important in a relationship, due to the fact that many of us get caught up with the fantasy of being with someone or just being married without really taking the time to think of what happiness and love truly means. At times the material in the book May seem a little harsh, however he picks our brain to think outside of the box and not just go with what we have been taught or are use to. Now I can ask myself " Am I living in my Optimal Happiness? what changes do I need to make as an individual in order to make that happen. I recommend this book to anyone that is seeking to have that special person in their life at some point. This book will help you understand and guide you in your next journey of finding a mate.

Optimal Happiness: Love Ain’t Never Been Enough was an amazing read. The book was an eye opener and kept my attention from cover to cover. I admire how the author provided real life personal examples throughout the book to paint a picture for the readers. After reading this book I have realized that there is so much work that goes into a relationship beneath the surface. Both parties have to be open and honest with eachother in order for things to work. As the title of the book states.. “Love ain’t NEVER been enough!!” I will definitely take a few principles from this book and apply them to my own personal life. This book exceeded my expectations and I look forward to reading more material from Mr. Greene.

This book was part of an adult education course at my synagogue, but the level of the material is not appropriate for adults. It is also more simplistic than the level I normally teach to junior high or high school students.I really disliked chapter 6. The point of the chapter was presumably to explain that there are many Jews who are atheists, which is a worthwhile concept to discuss. But I have heard much better explanations from atheist Jews at my synagogue. This chapter implied that all Jews must be atheist, and the concept that "God is everything" is actually pantheism, not atheism. This chapter's insistence that God is just our name for an impersonal force, or a verb rather than a being, disagrees with what is said in the rest of the book, where God is spoken of as a person (although not as a human being). Also, as my Rabbi has argued, although individual Jews can survive and thrive without God, Judaism cannot survive without God. How can Judaism be a covenantal faith if God is not a personal being? We cannot have a relationship with an impersonal force.I liked the last chapter, which agreed with other discussions we have had about the value of observing mitzvot: "if you don't make a choice to shape your life, there are forces around you that will do it for you. If you don't live life on purpose, you'll live by accident." Some of the concepts in the book were interesting and worthwhile to consider, but they are presented in a more compelling and age-appropriate way in other texts.

I don't agree with his overly PC explanations of Christianity and Islam because I think that it is a missed opportunity to make the case for why Judaism is the real thing and these others fall short. But overall a very good piece of work and well focused on the bar mitzvah or bat mitzvah in training.

Outstanding book written for young teens but applicable to others as well. Rabbi Feinstein explains typical questions young Jewish teens might ask in a manner that will appeal to young people. Highly recommended for your young teen or tween.
